Professor Copperhand was a Rock Gnome by birth, but as he grew older and neared the end of his mortal life, he decided to make highly advanced improvements to his arcane armor until the point that it eventually replaced all the parts of his frail old body and the armor simply became his body, thus making him a Warforged of his own creation. He is widely regarded as the most brilliant mind in all of Lestron and even is credited as the inventor of firearms in this world.

During the Great War, Arcanus urged Nesbis to invent a new weapon to help them turn the tides of battles and offered him substantial funding for the project. Copperhand agreed to do so and thus, he eventually came up with the first firearm. Arcanus won a major battle largely due to the implementation of firearms and it wasn’t long before Celeste stepped in and began negotiating a peace treaty. Once the Bill of Separation had been signed by all nations and the war had officially ended, Arcanus stopped funding Copperhand’s firearm production. They told him it was a weapon of war and they no longer had any need for it. They didn’t even consider the tools uses for everyday life such as for hunting or self-defense. In their eyes, it was merely a weapon of war that was too devastating to be given to the population by and large. This is why they are still rare in the world of Lestron and are seen as collectible war memorabilia rather than tools by the vast majority of people.

Professor Copperhand was formerly a member of the Arcanus Council, presiding over the city of Srochester until he eventually was asked to teach at Phoenix University by the Council of Celeste. Upon taking up this new responsibility, he relinquished his seat on the Arcanus Council to his own granddaughter, Crystal Fizzlebell, who now runs the city of Srochester and carries on his legacy as a brilliant inventor in her own respects.
