Sandstrider

Large
Beast,
Unaligned

The Sandstrider Scorpion is a massive, sleek, and agile predator adapted to the harsh, arid deserts of Militaris. Its body is covered in shimmering golden carapace that blends perfectly with the sand, giving it natural camouflage. Long, spindly legs allow it to traverse the dunes with surprising speed and grace. Its tail, tipped with a barbed stinger, drips with a venom that induces paralysis. The creature has an iridescent glow along its claws, which can shatter stone with their crushing grip.

Behavior and Ecology:
Sandstrider Scorpions are solitary hunters, using vibrations in the sand to detect prey from great distances. They burrow into dunes to ambush prey and can remain hidden for days. Though dangerous, they are revered for their beauty and are often the subject of Militaris art and folklore. Local legends tell of a massive, ancient Sandstrider that protects buried treasures beneath the desert sands.
